open your eyes (the writing's on the wall...)
In connection to the "Unfiltered Talking Point of the Day" i have decided to post the following, Taken from www.9-11commission.gov.
'The National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States (also known as the 9-11 Commission), an independent, bipartisan commission created by congressional legislation and the signature of President George W. Bush in late 2002, is chartered to prepare a full and complete account of the circumstances surrounding the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, including preparedness for and the immediate response to the attacks. The Commission is also mandated to provide recommendations designed to guard against future attacks.
On July 22, 2004 the Commission released its public report, which is available for download from this site. The report is also available in bookstores nationwide and from the Government Printing Office.
On August 21, 2004 the Commission released two staff monographs, available for download along with other staff statements on the site.
The ten members of the 9-11 Commission announce the creation of the 9/11 Public Discourse Project.
The Commission closed on August 21, 2004.'
And now: The Public Discourse Project;
'Following the July 22, 2004, release of its official 567-page report, the 9-11 Commission, in accordance with its founding statute, disbanded as a government entity on August 21, 2004. All ten commissioners believe, however, that it is critical to educate the public on the issue of terrorism and what can be done to make the country safer. They would like to do so by reaching out, in bipartisan pairs, to communities around the country, encouraging a national conversation on these critical issues. In the absence of such an effort, they are concerned that there will be insufficient public examination of how the lessons learned from the terrorist attacks can be used to shape public policy. The perils of inaction are far too high - and the strategic value of the Commission's findings too important - for the work of the 9-11 Commission not to continue. [more]'
This is too important to ignore. Please take time and, if you can, send money to help with the implementation of the commission's recommendations.
